A reader sent us the details on this event and it looks like a lot of fun, especially if you have little ones who are horse-obsessed (I’ve been there with my girls over the years!). Apparently it’s a super family-friendly event where you get to experience these majestic horses at work, just like they would be in the old days, plowing the fields.
My tipster also shared that JT’s Smokin’ BBQ is going to be there, so you can plan on eating lunch while you watch the horses do their thing. Plus, the TV show, Gentle Giants, is going to be at the match, filming for an upcoming episode. How cool is that?
The event is free and held at Berthusen Park in Lynden. If you’re not familiar with the park, like me, you can check out its website for details or plug it into your GPS: 8837 Berthusen Road, Lynden.
You can read about the details and history of the event on the Northwest Washington Fair website.
